Whether you're an experienced sailor or taking your first steps on the water, this trip guarantees mesmerizing landscapes and rich cultural experiences.

Consider the stories of passionate adventurers who have sailed these waters and have learned how to cross the Pacific. For example, sailors traveling from Mexico to Hawaii often encounter playful dolphins and breathtaking sunsets. Such experiences highlight how sailing can be transformative and exhilarating. So, if the ocean calls to you, let’s explore the steps to prepare for this epic journey!

Preparation is Key: Getting Ready for Your Voyage with Us.

Preparation is essential before you embark on your sailing adventure with us. Here are some practical steps to ensure that you are ready for this exciting Pacific expedition:

  1. Know and Study our Route: The journey from Mexico to Hawaii covers roughly 2,500 nautical miles, while continuing from Hawaii to the Philippines adds another 5,000 ish miles. We have taken the time to research the best sailing routes, and traditional route planning using Gnomonic charts, and Pilot charts. Plus, the new (AI) PredictWind routing system that combines traditional methods all at the touch of our fingertips. We understand the trade winds that can enhance our speed, and we will stay informed about the weather conditions we may encounter using various methods. PredictWind as our main source, backed by their Hub and Starlink. Last but not least Garmin and Iridium Go.

  2. Gathering our Crew: Whether you prefer sailing alone or with a team, having the right crew is vital. Looking for individuals who have at least basic sailing experience, and those with advanced sail training will streamline decision-making in challenging situations.

  3. Provisioning: Stocking supplies is crucial. For a journey of this length, we have a 30 gal. per hour watermaker and will aim to have 1 gallon of water per person per day for drinking minimum, along with enough non-perishable food and snacks to sustain us. Plus, fresh fruits and vegetables while they last. Plenty of protein and carbs is always important to keep the crew healthy and happy. Provisioning also Includes first-aid supplies, flares, a radio, and tools for major and minor repairs. Having a well-thought-out provisioning plan can mean the difference between a smooth trip and a crisis.

  4. Training: Consider taking a sailing course if you need to sharpen your skills. Many local sailing schools offer programs that can help you get more comfortable before you hit the open sea.

From Hawaii to the Philippines: The Long Voyage

After enjoying the sun and scenery in Hawaii and picking up and dropping off the crew, we will be ready to take on the longer journey to the Philippines. This section of your voyage will present moments of wonder and opportunities to explore hidden gems.

With open water stretching before us, prepare for the vastness that surrounds us. Looking for less-traveled islands where we can rest and discover diverse marine life. According to fate, any changes in the route may lead to even more breathtaking discoveries.

Once we reach the Philippines, we immerse ourselves in the local culture. The Filipino people are known for their hospitality. Engaging with different communities will deepen your travel experience and allow for shared stories that might inspire others.

Safety Considerations for Our Journey

While adventure is calling, maintaining safety is of utmost importance. To ensure a smooth journey, here are some crucial safety guidelines:

  1. Stay Updated: Weather can change rapidly at sea. We will be consistently checking marine weather forecasts and be aware of any active storm systems in our area. Experience has shown that being prepared can reduce the likelihood of facing severe weather unexpectedly.

  2. Emergency Protocols: We will discuss and establish clear emergency protocols with our crew. Understanding how to respond quickly to any emergencies will minimize panic and ensure everyone's safety.

  3. Safety Gear: We have ensured our catamaran is equipped with essential safety gear, including life rafts, personal flotation devices (PFDs) for each crew member, reliable means of communication of various types, and a fully stocked first aid kit and medicines. Personal locator devices, engine and alarm kill switch bracelets for the crew, tethers, and jack lines.

Prioritizing safety allows us to focus on enjoying your adventure.
